FROM NEW YORK
In 2004, during a casual outing to a New York City bar, childhood friends Mike Kirban and Ira Liran met two young women from Brazil.
Shortly after that night, Ira hopped on a plane to Brazil to see one of the girls and learned that the coconut water hype was real. When Mike came to visit a few months later, they got down to business with a plan to bring coconut water to the US.
Vita Coco was born.
THE START OF SOMETHING FRESH
Before long, the two friends produced the first Vita Coco in Brazil. They soon released the first line of natural coconut water in the US, and officially got the refreshing craze rolling.
A HYDRATING SENSATION
It turns out Mike and Ira were on to something (besides the Brazilian girls). Vita Coco quickly became a household name - attracting super-fans like Madonna, Matthew McConaughey, and Rihanna, to name a few–catapulting Vita Coco to a whole new level.
What began as a bright idea in NYC quickly grew to distribution in dozens of thirsty countries worldwide, making Vita Coco a truly global brand.
TO THE FAMILY
With the help of a monkey, a toucan, and a handful of fun, kid-friendly natural fruit flavors, Vita Coco Kids became a not-too-sweet favorite among its littlest fans (and their moms).
(ON THE BEACH)
Served up with a shot of espresso and a splash of reduced fat milk, Vita Coco Café gave coffee its smoothest-ever wake-up call.
SAME GROVE, NEW TWIST
And then we tried something really crazy: we taught coconuts to cook, clean, and nourish both outside and in and watched Vita Coco Coconut Oil take the world by (tropical) storm.
